Prayer of Adoration  (Jeri)

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God's people on earth.

Holy, holy, holy God, eternal Love and majesty, source, guide,

and goal of all that is.

Holy, holy, holy God, eternal Word, enfleshed among us, showing

the way of life, the way of truth and love.

Holy, holy, holy God, eternal Spirit, giver of life, abiding within

and all around us, guiding in all our ways.

Glory to God in whom we live and move and have our being.

Glory to God in the highest, and peace to God's people on earth.

(all God's children say)  Glory to God.

Call to Confession  (David)

Almighty God:  you alone are good and holy,

Purify our lives and make us brave disciples.

We do not ask you to keep us safe,

but to keep us loyal,

so we may serve Jesus Christ,

who, tempted in every way as we are,

was faithful to you.

(all God's children say)  Amen..

Confession (all God's children say)

Holy and merciful God, in your presence we confess our failure to be what you created us to be.  You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love.  By your loving mercy, help us to live in your light and abide in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Please take a moment for your Private Prayers of Personal Confession

(Water pouring to break the silence)

Assurance of Pardon (Pastor)

Having been reconciled with God,

let’s be reconciled with each other.  (All say)

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

And also with you.

Affirmation of Faith – The Apostles Creed

Pastor leads all to read together.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit

and born of the virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, died, and was buried;

he descended to hell.

The third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended to heaven

and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic* church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places.
